Product Keyword Ideas

Aug 26th, 2010 | Posted by | Filed under Getting Started, Keyword Research

One of the ways I get ideas for keywords is through new offers that appear on the networks I belong to. If the offer looks good, I’ll do research to see if there’s a good keyword related to that offer I can build a site around.

Maybe you aren’t a member of any networks, so you can’t use their offers to kick-start keyword ideas. There are other resources I use to get product keyword ideas though. My favorite two:

Google Product Search: Google product search provides insight into recent product searches. Refresh it and the items change. A great place to get ideas for products people are searching for.

Amazon Best Sellers: Another great place to get ideas, but not as random or as easy to use as Google Products. I find the best way to use Amazon Best Sellers is to already have at least a category in mind, and then drill in to see what’s selling.

Amazon also has Movers and Shakers (nice) and Hot New Releases (also nice).

Amazon is especially good if you’re going to be building Amazon product pages.

Another place I use, although not nearly as much as the above two, is eBay Pulse. Tends to be a bit too generic, but every now and then it sparks a good idea.

Happy hunting!
