AdOn Network Review

I’m running a popunder for one of the best converting offers I’ve got, an offer that has converted at 14.2% for the past 365 days on organic traffic that hits the offer site.

Here’s the AdOn Network scoop so far:

Initial seed: $100
Spend: $33.67
Views: 6,734
Click-throughs: 2,029
Conversions: 0

Let me repeat that: Conversions: 0

What’s up with that? Over 2,000 click-throughs on an offer that has a 14.2% conversion rate and no conversions? Call me a cynic, but there’s something fishy going on.

I know, I know, it’s untargeted traffic you say, not at all like the visitors who arrive through search. I realize that, and, based on past market experience, have come to expect untargeted traffic to convert at about 1/10th of targeted. So let’s run down the rabbit hole.

According to my network stats (offer network, not AdOn Network) at least 2,029 people were interested enough when they saw the ad to click on it. Nevertheless, we’ll still consider them untargeted.

Using the 14.2% as a base, it’s not unreasonable to expect a 1.4% conversion from people interested enough to click the ad. For 2,000 clicks, I should be sitting around 28 sales and I’ve got zero.

Let’s go ultra low and use the standard industry conversion of about 2%. Even 1/10th of that would be 4 sales so far, and I’ve got zilch.

Since I’m a lazy bastard, I’m just going to let it ride, burn through the rest of my initial seed (it was only $100), and put AdOn in the don’t-use-again pile. It’s not worht it (to me) to spend another hour or so setting up another campaign and landing page.

As of right now: AdOn Network = Not Recommended.

I’m gonna try MediaTraffic next.
